SUMMARY:How to crowdfund for your community project
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 31 March\, 6 to 7.30pm\nOnline\nMembers £10/ Non-members £30 \nWhat is crowdfunding?\nCrowdfunding is a short-form\, online fundraising activity\, typically run over a 4-week period\, that invites financial support from a wide range of people and organisations. A crowdfunding campaign centres on a single online page where a community group can share its story\, explain what it needs funding for and invite people to get involved. \nSuccessful crowdfunding relies on three key things; a compelling story\, a clearly identified community of supporters and a simple marketing plan to keep the campaign visible and active throughout its duration. \nCommunities are particularly well placed to succeed with crowdfunding because they are rooted in place and people. Supporters are often motivated by a mix of emotional connection\, local pride and practical benefit\, whether that’s keeping a valued space open\, improving facilities\, or securing its future for the next generation. \nWhy crowdfunding?\nMany community groups across the UK face a familiar challenge: a lack of accessible funding to support projects\, repairs\, upgrades\, growth\, or long-term sustainability. Traditional grant funding is increasingly competitive and often restricted\, while loans are not always appropriate for spaces with limited or unpredictable income. \nCrowdfunding offers an alternative. It is a collaborative and transparent way to raise money that happens in public\, not behind closed doors. Rather than writing a single application\, a community can invite its users\, neighbours\, partners and supporters to back a shared vision. \nBut crowdfunding is about more than just money. For community spaces\, it can also help to: \n\nTell the story of the space and its impact\nReconnect with existing users and reach new ones\nDemonstrate local support and demand\nBuild confidence\, pride and momentum around the space\nTest new ideas\, activities or income streams\nStrengthen relationships with partners and funders\nRaise the profile of the space locally and beyond\n\nPlatforms such as Crowdfunder UK enable collaborative finance by hosting match-funding opportunities from local authorities\, trusts\, corporates\, and other funders specifically looking to support community-led projects. \nWhat’s covered in the webinar? \n\nAn introduction to crowdfunding and whether it’s right for your community organisation\nExamples of successful community campaigns\nHow to plan\, create and run a crowdfunding campaign\nA practical guide to using AI to save time and improve your campaign\nMatch funding opportunities and how to apply for them\nLive Q&A\n\nBOOK YOUR PLACE  \nREGISTER HERE How to crowdfund for your community project \nDepending on your membership status\, you will pay the full amount or a discounted rate. SUMMARY:Fundraising - What Trustees need to know
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 17 March\, 12 to 1.30pm\nOnline\nMembers £10/ Non-members £30 \nTrustees are increasingly required to play an active role in ensuring that their charity’s fundraising activities are conducted appropriately\, ethically\, and in line with available guidance. But more than just ‘ticking the boxes’ – trustees have a duty to understand their charity’s income mix and how it will sustain their provision beyond this financial year.  \nThis session will provide participants with the knowledge and tools to enable their organisation to fundraise effectively and sustainably\, and to take an active role in doing so.   \nThis workshop is aimed primarily at trustees; however\, it may be suitable for senior leaders in charitable organisations. \nAt the end of the session\, attendees will be able to:  \n\nUnderstand the key duties and responsibilities of charities and their trustees with regard to fundraising  \n\n\nKnow what to consider to ensure fundraising is legal and ethical \n\n\nBe able to describe what a healthy funding mix looks like\, and what steps to take to achieve one  \n\n\nUnderstand how trustees can support fundraising – particularly in times of economic challenge. \n\nFeedback from past delivery  \nI now feel informed clearly to go back to my board of trustee peers\, and communicate to them the essential role they play in fundraising\, not just governance and agreeing to the fundraising policy and plan. \nBOOK YOUR PLACE  \nREGISTER HERE Fundraising – What Trustees need to know March 2026 \nDepending on your membership status\, you will pay the full amount or a discounted rate.
