Congratulations to our member Farndon Community Club, which is now fully open for business following the installation of its new roof, made possible by its massive fundraising achievement.

FROM CLOSURE TO COMEBACK

Farndon Community Club is celebrating a major milestone after successfully completing vital structural repairs and fully reopening its much-loved facilities. Its Main Hall – closed since January 2023 due to serious issues with the roof and supporting walls – is once again open and available for hire, marking the end of a two-year, community-powered fundraising campaign.

£250,000 RAISED BY FUNDERS AND COMMUNITY

After launching their ambitious ‘Raise the Roof’ appeal, the volunteer Trustees of the Club worked tirelessly to raise the £250,000 needed to carry out the repairs. Thanks to generous support from funders including The Steve Morgan Foundation, ACRE, Cheshire Community Action, The Ursula Keyes Trust, The Bernard Sunley Foundation and the National Lottery Community Fund – as well as many individual donations and local business sponsorships – the project officially got underway in December 2024 and was completed and signed off by the end of March 2025.

“This has been an enormous challenge,” said the Trustees, “but it simply wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible backing of our supporters. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this happen.”

To celebrate the Club’s full reopening, a free community event was held in the refurbished Main Hall on Saturday 10th May, with live music from local band North Star adding to the party atmosphere.
