The 2024 End of Year Report for the Community Led Care and Carers (CLCC) grants scheme in Cheshire West highlights the impact of community-based initiatives on over 11,400 individuals across 21 organisations.

The program provided support to a diverse group including carers, older adults, people with disabilities, and those experiencing social isolation. Reported benefits include enhanced emotional well-being, reduced loneliness, improved mental health, and increased independence in daily living.

Positive outcomes also spanned improved mobility, stronger peer networks, and boosted confidence among participants. The program’s reach extended across both urban and rural communities, notably Chester, Ellesmere Port, Northwich, Winsford, and Frodsham.

Despite its success, challenges remained, particularly in securing sustainable funding and addressing rural accessibility and volunteer recruitment. Nonetheless, the scheme achieved an impressive social return on investment—£7.31 for every £1 spent.

Case studies reveal life-changing stories, with participants expressing newfound purpose, connection, and confidence. As the program looks to the future, strategic refinements and increased investment aim to expand its positive reach and deepen its community impact.
